The two sides exchanged views on the practice and exploration of technology transfer between Chinese and Belgian universities.
At the beginning of the meeting, Lu Jijun, Assistant President of the National Technology Transfer Eastern Center, introduced the construction of the technology transfer ecosystem of the Eastern Center and the operation of the technology market in universities nationwide. As a fourth-party platform for technology transfer, the Eastern Center is committed to building an efficient and comprehensive ecological system for technology innovation and international technology transfer. The Shanghai National High School Technology Market relies on the technologies and resources that can serve the society from various high schools in Shanghai, and integrates the existing scientific and technological resources of high schools through the innovation of transaction methods and service models, forming a comprehensive platform for technology transfer functions in the High School Technology Market.
Afterwards, representatives from Ghent University, Thomas More University, Mons University and Réseau Lieu, a university technology transfer agency, shared the advantages of each university and their work in technology transfer. Among them, Mr. Van Camp Wim, General Manager of Technology Transfer Department of Ghent University, introduced that Ghent University is a world-leading researcher in animal health and agricultural sciences, and currently has 40 patent agency partners in China. At the same time, Ghent University is very interested in the challenge solutions currently being solicited by the Eastern Center, among which the demand interface on the prevention and management of suckling pig diarrhea, and hopes to make a concrete interface with the demand side.
In addition, Mao Wei, the representative of the Eastern Center Europe Branch Center, introduced the basic situation of the European Branch Center and its practice in university cooperation to the participants through a video link. Mao Wei pointed out that the Eastern Center Europe Branch Center, headquartered in The Hague, the Netherlands, is committed to establishing a high-speed and efficient channel for technology transfer between China and Europe, and its business involves the construction of incubators and accelerators between China and Europe, as well as the promotion of commercialization of technology transfer between China and Europe. At the same time, the European Sub-center has already cooperated with European universities such as Maastricht University in the Netherlands and Aalborg University in Denmark, and hopes to establish cooperation with Belgian universities on the transformation of results into business incubation in the future.
Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium led a Belgian trade delegation to China from November 17 to 22. This time, the Belgian university delegation visited the East China Center, which is a group of representatives from universities in the field of technology transfer and fruit transformation who accompanied Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid to China. Through this meeting, the cooperation channels between the East China Center and Belgian universities in the field of technology transfer and achievement transformation were expanded, and the influence of the East China Center Europe Branch Center in the field of technology transfer and achievement transformation in Europe was enhanced, which promoted the exchange and cooperation between China and Belgium in the field of science and technology innovation.
