Xinmin Evening News (Reporter Sun Yun) Today, the 2018 Artificial Intelligence Industry Development Summit was held in Lingang, and the Information and Innovation Center of China Artificial Intelligence Industry Development Alliance was also located in Lingang. Lingang is the first region in China to substantially carry out the planning and layout of AI industry development, which will actively promote the construction of Shanghai as a science and technology innovation center with global influence and play a positive demonstration and driving role in the development of China's artificial intelligence industry. The Talent Development Center of China Artificial Intelligence Industry Development Alliance was officially established at the summit to address the severe situation that the talent gap in China's AI industry may exceed 5 million in the future.

The Information and Innovation Center of China Artificial Intelligence Industry Development Alliance will establish an artificial intelligence academician workstation, dock with the AI industry resources in the Alliance, carry out the practice and application of AI industrialization, and at the same time build a public service platform for the AI industry in Lingang, import key technologies and cultivate the AI industry, so as to realize the new engine of AI and promote the achievements of AI technology. Transformation and industrialization to accelerate the development goal of Lingang's intelligent manufacturing industry and promote Lingang's acceleration of Shanghai's development as a globally influential technology and innovation center. At the summit, the Talent Development Center of China Artificial Intelligence Industry Development Alliance was also officially established. China's AI industry is developing at a rapid pace, with a shortage of talent highlighted. China ranks 7th in the world in the number of AI practitioners, and the talent shortage is expected to exceed 5 million in the future. The State Council in July 2017 released a "new generation of artificial intelligence development plan" proposed to accelerate the cultivation and gathering of high-end AI talents, cultivate high-level AI innovation talents and teams, China Artificial Intelligence Industry Development Alliance set up a talent development center for this purpose, based on the social level for the training, delivery, assessment, re-education and other aspects of AI-oriented talents.
